For the fifth year in a row, members of the GLA team have teamed up with the Melia Hotel Group to secure its spot as the annual host of the 3-day charity weekend to benefit the Give Kids The World organization known around the world as Hearts of Reality. GLA’s mission, to raise funds and bring the event to life with relevant and buzz-worthy participants and meaningful international media coverage for Give Kids the World.
With over 100 reality TV stars in attendance representing hit shows such as Survivor, The Amazing Race, Big Brother, Syfy’s Face/Off, Fox’s Solitary, Naked and Afraid, and American Grit, the annual event continues to eclipse previous participation numbers while creating record-setting fundraising year over year.
Unlike other fundraising events, Hearts of Reality utilizes the social media following of its celebrity participants by encouraging each individual to raise donations personally through their social media sites by asking fans, friends, followers, and family for donations to this great cause.
In addition to the exposure generated by the participants, GLA leveraged existing relationships to garner over $150,000 in advertising, including outdoor billboard advertising on over 20 locations throughout central Florida, network television announcements via news programming and PSA’s, printed materials including total donation of the invitation printing, numerous features in local newsprint, broadcast PSA’s on radio stations, and on-air interviews through call-ins and in-studio visits with celebrity attendees.
Result: On average the event raises over $150,000 annually for the organization while also creating hundreds of millions of media impressions for the cause.
